Description: The ginkgo or maidenhair tree is the oldest known


living tree species and last survivor of its botanical


family Ginkgoaceae. It may grow to 80 feet and live as


long as 1,000 years. Native to Asia, it is now


found commonly in North America. The tree produces


green to yellow fan-shaped leaves with radiating


veins, and round fruit that contains a single seed.s
