Description: |
The ginkgo or maidenhair tree is the oldest known |
|
|
living tree species and last survivor of its botanical |
|
|
family Ginkgoaceae. It may grow to 80 feet and live as |
|
|
long as 1,000 years. Native to Asia, it is now |
|
|
found commonly in North America. The tree produces |
|
|
green to yellow fan-shaped leaves with radiating |
|
|
veins, and round fruit that contains a single seed.s |
